LOCTITE EA 3463 is a grey resin / black hardener two-component epoxy that mixes into a metallic black putty-like compound. What makes it exceptional is its speed: gel time is just 3 minutes, with a working life of approximately 4 minutes and a full cure at 25°C in only 10 minutes. This makes it one of the fastest industrial epoxy adhesives available for field repair situations.Despite its rapid cure, EA 3463 delivers impressive mechanical properties. With a tensile strength of 18 N/mm², compressive strength of 50 N/mm², and a Shore Hardness D of 70, the cured bond is genuinely steel-like suitable for filling oversized bolt holes, smoothing welds, restoring worn metal parts, and stopping leaks in pipes or tanks.Unlike standard structural epoxies, EA 3463 cures under water and adheres to damp surfaces a critical advantage for pipework in cooling towers, drainage systems, or marine environments.

It's used in industrial maintenance and repair for restoring worn shafts, filling damaged keyways, smoothing rough welds, and doing non-structural casting repairs. When you need something with the workability of putty and the strength of metal, EA 3463 fits the brief.Key cured properties include a Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) of 54°C, lap shear strength on mild steel of 3.8 N/mm², and a thermal conductivity of 1.01 W/(m·K). Electrically, the surface resistivity is 46×10¹² Ω so it won't compromise electrically sensitive assemblies when used appropriately.Application temperature should be between 15–30°C for optimal results, and the product should not be applied to surfaces above 66°C.
