Loctite PC 7333 Brushable Ceramic (1kg) — Description

Loctite PC 7333GY, known as Loctite Nordbak® Brushable Ceramic Gray, is an ultra-smooth, ceramic and silicon carbide reinforced epoxy coating that provides a high-gloss, low-friction surface engineered to protect against turbulence and abrasion. Designed for typical dry service temperatures of -29°C to 120°C, Loctite PC 7333GY ceramic coating is the industrial maintenance professional's solution for combating corrosion and wear on critical equipment.

This two-component, room-temperature curing epoxy mixes easily at a 2.75:1 volume ratio and brushes on with an ultra-smooth, easy-to-apply consistency. Used alone for sealing and protecting equipment, or as a top coat over Loctite Nordbak® Wearing Compounds, this brushable ceramic coating significantly reduces unplanned maintenance downtime.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Ceramic and silicon carbide filled – maximum abrasion and turbulence protection
  • Ultra-smooth brushable consistency – easy to mix and apply with a brush
  • High gloss, low friction finish – reduces fluid turbulence and wear
  • Superior adhesion – forms a solid, lasting bond to metal substrates
  • Compressive strength of 70 N/mm² (10,180 psi)
  • Lap shear strength on grit-blasted steel: 21 N/mm² (3,020 psi)
  • Excellent abrasion resistance – only 12 mg material loss (ASTM D4060)
  • Maintains strength performance even after heat aging at 150°C and 177°C
  • Reduces costly equipment downtime through fast, reliable rebuilding

Common Applications

Loctite PC 7333GY brushable ceramic coating is used for:

  • Repairing heat exchangers and condensers
  • Lining tanks and chutes against abrasive wear
  • Resurfacing and repairing rudders and pintle housings
  • Repairing cooling pump impellers and butterfly valves
  • General corrosion and wear protection for industrial equipment
  • Top-coating over Nordbak® Wearing Compounds for extended protection

How to Use Loctite PC 7333GY

  1. Clean, dry, and abrade the application surface; grit blast to Near White Metal standard where possible.
  2. Solvent clean with a residue-free solvent as the final preparation step.
  3. Mix material temperature should be 20°C to 30°C; add hardener to resin and mix vigorously for 3–5 minutes until uniform in colour.
  4. Apply fully mixed material with a short bristle brush or plastic spatula.
  5. Clean tools and skin immediately with soap and water.
  6. Caution: Use an approved respirator when welding or torch cutting near cured compound; never use an open flame on the compound.
