Teroson MS 930 Elastic Sealant — Description
TEROSON MS 930 is a gun-grade, one-component sealant built on silane-modified polymer (MS polymer) technology, formulated to cure through reaction with atmospheric moisture into a soft, durable, elastic seal. As a solvent-free, isocyanate-free, silicone-free, and PVC-free sealant, TEROSON MS 930 represents a versatile, modern alternative to traditional sealant chemistries across a remarkably broad range of industrial and transportation applications.
Key Features
TEROSON MS 930's defining strength is its all-around versatility: it bonds well to a wide variety of substrates, demonstrates excellent UV and weathering resistance suitable for both interior and exterior use, and is compatible with most paint systems for finished, paintable seams. Its thixotropic, pasty consistency resists sagging even in vertical DIN-profile joints up to 15mm, and it's available in white, grey, and black to match application aesthetics. For applications requiring faster cure, TEROSON MS 930 is also compatible with accelerated two-component curing systems (Teroson MS Power & Speed Technology or Teroson MS 2c-Technology).
Performance Data
With a density of approximately 1.5 g/cm³, TEROSON MS 930 forms a skin within 10–40 minutes and cures at a rate of roughly 4mm per 24 hours, with Shore A hardness around 30 and elongation at break of approximately 250%. Tensile strength reaches approximately 0.9 MPa, and the sealant shows no significant change after extensive UV and QUV weatherometer testing over 6 weeks, plus demonstrated durability in 1,000-hour damp heat testing per IEC 61215/61646. Its in-service temperature range spans -50°C to +80°C, with short-term exposure tolerance up to 120°C — a wide operating window for demanding climates.
Applications
TEROSON MS 930 multi-purpose sealant is used extensively for seam and joint sealing in vehicle body manufacturing, railway carriage and container production, ship and boat building, and general metal construction. It also serves electrical, plastics, and HVAC industries, conventional vehicle window glazing (bonding rubber profiles to glass, including EPDM-based rubber), and floor covering installation in bus manufacturing. Note that TEROSON MS 930 does not adhere to polyethylene, polypropylene, or PTFE, and stress corrosion cracking is possible on PMMA (Plexiglas) and polycarbonate (Makrolon/Lexan) under tension — application trials are recommended for these substrates.
Directions for Use
Substrates must be clean, dry, and free of oil and grease; roughening or a primer/adhesion promoter may improve adhesion on certain surfaces. Remove any mold-release agents from plastic parts before bonding. Apply from 310mL or 570mL cartridges using TEROSON Hand or Air Pressure Pistols, with compressed-air application requiring 2–5 bar pressure. Cold sealant increases viscosity and reduces extrusion rate, so bringing the product to room temperature before application improves workability. Clean equipment contaminated with uncured product using Cleaner-D.
