LOCTITE® 263 is a high-strength, red anaerobic threadlocking adhesive designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners in heavy-duty applications. Particularly suited for studs into motor housings, nuts onto studs in pump housings, and other fasteners requiring high strength, Loctite 263 red thread locker provides robust curing performance across a wide range of substrates.

This low-viscosity dimethacrylate ester cures anaerobically between close-fitting metal surfaces and works equally well on active metals (brass, copper) and passive substrates (stainless steel, plated surfaces). Loctite 263 offers high-temperature performance and oil tolerance, making it suitable for demanding industrial and automotive environments.

How to Use Loctite 263

1. Clean all surfaces with Loctite cleaning solvent and allow to dry.
2. If cure speed is too slow, use the appropriate activator per the cure speed vs activator data.
3. Shake the product thoroughly before use.
4. For thru holes: apply drops onto the bolt at the nut engagement area.
5. For blind holes: apply drops to the lower third of internal threads or the bottom of the hole.
6. For sealing applications: apply a 360° bead to leading threads, leaving the first thread free.
7. Assemble and tighten as required.
8. For disassembly: apply localised heat to ~250°C and disassemble while hot.
