Soudaflex 40FC reaches a Shore A hardness of 40±5 with a density of 1.30 g/ml. Elastic recovery exceeds 80%, with maximum allowed distortion of ±20%. Tensile testing shows maximum tension of 1.70 N/mm², an elasticity modulus at 100% of 0.80 N/mm², and elongation at break of 700% — exceptional stretch capacity for a structural-grade PU sealant. The product withstands temperatures from -30°C to +90°C and applies comfortably between +5°C and +35°C.

Applications

Soudaflex 40FC is used extensively for sealing and bonding in concrete floors and walls, metal construction, roof tile bonding, and general manufacturing and construction joint sealing where high mechanical performance and chemical resistance are required. Its non-slip, high-grab characteristic makes it especially suited to vertical and overhead bonding applications in coach building, panelling, trailer manufacture, and road and bridge construction.

Directions for Use

Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust and grease. Apply Soudal Primer 100 on porous substrates and on natural stone; non-porous substrates generally require no primer, though smooth surfaces can be treated with Soudal Surface Activator. Apply with a manual or pneumatic caulking gun. Clean with white spirit or Surface Cleaner immediately after use, and finish with a soapy solution before the sealant skins, using the Soudaglatt Smoothing Tool for a professional finish. Note that Soudaflex 40FC does not adhere to glass, PE, PP, PTFE, or bituminous substrates — a compatibility test is recommended on unfamiliar surfaces.
